CPTSD and PTSD is not a condition that just causes suffering for service personnel, first responders, health care workers, or even victims of violent crimes.

People who have gone through some form of abuse (which may have been by a parent/care giver, sibling, family member or  even a intimate partner) are also extremely susceptible to experiencing PTSD and CPTSD, and all the associated symptoms. As PTSD  in adulthood is mostly always due to childhood trauma and relational trauma. And not the actual event they experienced in adulthood, in  the military, or as a first responder.

The person will already be dealing with CPTSD symptom’s in childhood due the traumatic events that occurred to them then. And for this reason, why as a adult a person would be more susceptible to getting PTSD on the battle field, and why a person would get into, and stay in, an abusive relationship with an intimate partner.
